We have another exclusive interview for you on My Own Sense of Fashion. For this interview, I am talking to Plus Size Model LaTonia Robinson. Robinson has modeled in several major fashion events including Full Figured Fashion Week and appeared on major television networks such as Telemundo. Keeping reading to see what she had to say about her model journey to her thoughts on the changes being made in the fashion industry.
LaTonia Robinson began her modeling career at the invitation of Head Designer/Owner, Nina Verklas for the House of “Bambina by NV” during Fashion Week Tampa Bay in 2010. It was from that experience that she found a new way to truly enjoy the evolution of fashion, and why she decided to become a voice for curvy women.
Full Figured Fashion Week premier sponsor Fit For Me‘s runway presentation spoke volumes at Saturday’s show. With the Glamazons singing Sara Bareilles “Brave”, one by one models emerged wearing undies and t-shirts from Fit For Me by Fruit Of The Loom. What the made the moment so amazing was that the models were not wearing girdles, support hose or heels. The audience had the pleasure of seeing them in their natural state which allowed women to connect with them in a great way.
6 Killer Trends as Seen at Full Figured Fashion Week (2015). This past weekend, BuzzFeed Life attended Full Figured Fashion Week’s closing events. From capes to tutus to wax prints and more, here’s just a small sampling of the trends on parade.
Not familiar with what an Indie Fashion Show is? Think like the brands that you never hear about. Brands I knew I wasn’t even familiar with until I attended my first FFF Week. Brands that aren’t featured on ASOS or Ashley Stewart or Lane Bryant, but are just as avant garde and stylish. Beautifully unique, like we are as curvy women....
If you have never had the pleasure of attending FFFWeek, I strongly suggest that you get there while you can and experience it at least once! Each year that I attend, there is a new vibe, new designers, and different events and crowds that make each FFFWeek one to remember! I have been to each one, since inception and I have to say that I always leaving falling in love with a designer or two! Speaking of fashion, let us get to the designers from the indie show, yes?!
For the second year in a row The E.G.O Boutique presented their latest collection at Full Figured Fashion Week 2015 that was held last night in New York City.
E.G.O which means edgy, glamorous and on point, is owned by Yolanda Ann and it is based out of Houston, Texas. In addition to retail the company also offers wholesale items. Check out some of the pictures from The E.G.O Boutique showcase below.
There was no shortage of curves and good vibes at last night’s Full Figured Fashion Week Luau Party in New York City, hosted by the Face of FFF Week 2015, Revèe Lamar.
FFF Week is the #1 plus size event in New York City that draws people from around the globe, which include brands, indie designers and fabulous plus size ladies to attend the various events during the week.
But you know what is even MORE gorge? The Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant collection in person. I mean, I was impressed....
